The Rhetorical Triangle demonstrates the need for a balance of ethos, logos, and pathos when making an argument. Each of the three appeals is just as important as the other and without any one of the three an argument is not effective. Many times parts of an argument will overlap two of the three appeals or even all of the appeals.
